Believing What You Can't See
There are days when my faith is alive and well, where believing what I know to be true takes little effort. Believing what I can't see. How can you wake up every day and remember that God is there, when you can't see Him?

Believing What You Can't See
I live about 1/2 block from the beautiful Lake Michigan. My street ends on a cliff that drops about 50 feet down to the shore of the Great Lake.
A few weeks ago, I was walking and listening to worship music on my phone when I heard these lyrics in an old song...
“Far be it for me to not believe even when my eyes can't see”
As I listened to the words, I paused on the cliff and looked over.
It was a warm day, but very windy. Since the water is cold, there was a thick fog over the lake. The high winds had the waters beating against the shore as huge waves crashed together. From where I was standing I could feel the cold mist rising up and I could almost feel the power of the water.
Here is the thing that God shared with me on that walk, and I just HAD to tell you!!!
Seeing Isn't Always Believing
In life, sometimes we are in those turbulent, fog covered waters. It’s hard to find our footing, we may be struggling to stay above the water line. We look up and all we see is fog. It feels like the storm is surrounding us. But that’s not true!
(I just LOOOOOOVE this part!!) Where I was standing on that cliff, it was sunny and warm. I could feel the wind and the mist, but I was looking OVER the fog, the darkness and the violent waters. The darkness was beneath me, and I could feel the sunshine on my face looking out over the storm. I imagined that if I were down on the shore, I wouldn’t even know how beautiful it is just a few feet above!
Down below, looking up, all I'd see was the violent crashes of the water and the dark clouds over me. But from where I stood, I had a whole different perspective.
Matthew 8:26-27 says: “He said to them, ‘Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?’ Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it became perfectly calm. The men were amazed, and said, ‘What kind of a man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?’ “
Jesus is always there, right above the fog and the storm. We might not be able to physically see Him there, but I assure you, He is! In those moments where you can’t see above the fog and you are in the turbulent waters fighting for breath, remember that the wind and those waves are underneath Him. They obey Him. He holds you in His hand.

Faith is Believing What You Can't See
Are you ready to get a little bit more serious about your faith?
Are you finding that you tend to spend more time making excuses about why you DON'T read your Bible than you actually spend reading it? I totally get that. I've been there, too!
I've been working extremely hard over the last year to get my own quiet time consistent (and believe me, it's not always easy!) so that I can help others find their own special moments in their own busy lives to really hear from God.
Are you ready for that?
If you are, please reply and let me know.
This is YOUR JOURNEY. YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR CREATOR. Let's stop "trying" and start moving forward. Maybe you just need someone to show you how to make it happen. And I'd be honored to do that with you!!
Many blessings,
Angie
